How to Stay Organized

As the event coordinator it is your role to organize all of the elements of the event, to track the who, what, where and how of things are getting done.

This can be very daunting, challenging and overwhelming to keep things in order at all times.

Especially if you're planning multiple events at one time, you have a family, other commitments that take up a lot of your time or just really difficult clients that have a hard time making up their mind.

Here are some daily practices that will make this process and part of the job much easier.

  1. Take notes - either on a paper, in a planner, online or on your phone. The format doesn't matter. It only matters that you are consist with making a note of something you need to remember or reference later.

  2. Create a plan - outline a process for when you are going to tackle specific details and what will be your deadlines for procuring information. This will help you and your vendors on track.

  3. Set reminders - add calendar reminders for deadlines to ensure you don't miss an important deadline.

  4. Track your progress - enjoy the process of checking things off the list. It's my favorite part of creating a list!

Tools & Books to Check-Out

  2. Boomerang for Gmail - Scheduling tool for emails and reminders

  3. Full Focus Planner - Notebook organizer

  4. Passion Planner - Alternative notebook organizer that some friends and colleagues swear by.

Here's to an exciting new year!! Wishing you tons of success with the events that you are planning in 2020.

Best,

Jen
